CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Two men were arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on accusations they assaulted and carjacked a woman.
On April 21, a woman reported to Clarksville Police that she gave two men, Israel Rivera, 39, and Raymond Poindexter, 37, a ride to the Inn Town Suites in the 100 block of Westfield Court.
The woman parked her car, a 1996 Infinity I30, on the backside of the building and exited the car, according to warrants.
She began walking to the rear entry door to the hotel and as she did Rivera, got out of the passenger seat and got into the driver seat of her car.
The woman ran back to her car and jumped into the passenger seat in an attempt to get her keys out.
She said Rivera began to assault her and eventually pointed a gun at her and forced her out of the car, the warrants said.
Poindexter allegedly helped Rivera assault the woman and force her out of the car, before they left in her car.
Witness statements and video surveillance corroborated the woman’s statement.
She identified Rivera and Poindexter in a photo line up as the men who assaulted her and stole her car.
Rivera and Poindexter were both charged with carjacking and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on April 22.
Rivera and Poindexter’s bonds were set at $250,000.
