CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Are you ready for an exciting night run? The 6th Annual “Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial Road Race” is coming up Saturday, August 10 at Beachaven Winery. There’s a 1-Mile Fun Run at 8:00 p.m. followed by a 5K race at 8:30 p.m.
Entry fee for the 5K is $25 and $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Runners entered in the 5K race can run the 1- mile fun run at no extra charge. There will be a silent auction with many great items and food available for purchase on-site.
All 1-mile runners who register before midnight July 21 receive a free race t-shirt. Extra shirts can be purchased for $10 for both the 5K race and 1-mile fun run during online registration through July 28. The first 400 registered 5K runners will get a swag bag and all 5K runners will receive a finishers medal.
What about taking your favorite four-legged family member along in the race? There is a category for dogs and medals will be awarded for the fastest male and female dogs in the 5K race. The fee for entering your pet is $15.
All proceeds from the event will help provide funds for the families of officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson lost his life in 2014 in a vehicle accident while on duty with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
