CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The 2025 baseball season in the Clarksville area was one for the history books. Many deep postseason runs were made, including two state runner-up banners from Clarksville Academy and Clarksville High, along with Rossview making their first state tournament in seven years. It’s now time to honor players representing Montgomery County schools with the 2025 Clarksville Now All-Area Baseball Team and Player of the Year.
A wide variety of talented individuals make up each high school team, but these players separated themselves from the rest. All statistics were contributed by Clarksville-area coaches.
Clarksville Now All-Area Team
Brennen Gibson, Senior Outfielder, Clarksville Academy – Gibson put on a clinic at the plate, hitting nine doubles, 12 triples, and five home runs in 2025. He also brought in 40 RBIs with a .435 batting average. Gibson was a dangerous runner on the basepaths too, with 35 stolen bases.
Jalon Page, Senior Pitcher, Clarksville Academy – Page was a consistent starter for the Cougars throughout this past season and was a huge piece in their run to the state title game. Page had a 2.19 ERA in 60.2 innings pitched, while striking out 80. Page was also a reliable bat, knocking in 36 RBIs on the year.
Becket Haselhuhn, Sophomore Two-Way Player, Rossview High – Haselhuhn did it all on both the offensive and defensive side of the plate for the Hawks. Haselhuhn finished his sophomore year with a .445 batting average and a .528 on-base percentage, with 61 total hits and 43 RBIs as well. On the mound for Rossview, Haselhuhn went 8-2, with a 2.51 ERA, and struck out 96 batters.
Julian Richards, Senior Outfielder, Rossview High – Richards led the Hawks with 64 total base hits in 2025, which included him blasting five home runs. Richards knocked in 31 RBIs and had an on-base percentage of .494. Richards also converted 31 out of 31 stolen base attempts.
CJ Lattimore, Senior Third Baseman, Rossview High – Lattimore was all over the base paths this season for Rossview High as he finished 2025 with 32 stolen bases, which led his team. Lattimore also now holds the single-season triples record at Rossview, with six. Lattimore finished the season hitting .404, collecting 57 hits, including 10 doubles, and driving in 48 RBIs.

Jordan Akins, Senior Outfielder, Rossview High – Akins had a better chance than a coin flip to reach base, as he compiled a .562 on-base percentage in 2025. Akins was patient at the plate, reaching on balls 41 times, while also collecting 45 total hits, and scoring 46 RBIs.
Marvin Wares, Senior First Baseman, Kenwood High – Wares was extremely efficient at the plate, with a .522 batting average. He collected 24 hits, which includes 3 home runs and driving in 15 RBIs.
Dylan Fulton, Sophomore Catcher, Montgomery Central – Fulton led the way for the Indians’ offense with a .406 batting average and a .564 on-base percentage. Fulton collected 31 total hits this past season, including 7 doubles and 3 home runs, and scored 20 runs.
Kirk Weatherford, Senior Second Baseman, Clarksville High – Weatherford collected 58 total hits in 2025, which came out to a batting average of .408 and an on-base percentage of .551. Weatherford also drove in 36 RBIs this season from the leadoff spot in the Wildcats’ lineup.
Jack Wyatt, Senior Outfielder, Clarksville High – Wyatt was one of the most productive hitters in Montgomery County in 2025, as he collected 53 hits, including 7 home runs, for a .387 batting average. Where he really shined was when runners were in scoring position, Wyatt knocked in 59 RBIs.
Cooper Nebben, Junior Right-Handed Pitcher, Clarksville High – Nebben was a perfect 6-0 on the mound in 38.1 innings pitched in 2025, with a 2.01 ERA, and he also struck out 58 batters. Nebben shined the brightest in the postseason, earning wins against Rossview High in the region championship, Houston in their sub-state game, and Oak Ridge when he faced off in a pitchers’ duel against Mr. Baseball Micheal Teasely, in the first game of the Wildcats’ state tournament run.
Cade Abernathy, Senior Third Baseman, Clarksville High – Abernathy was a slugger for the Wildcats, with 48 total hits on the season, which included him hitting 8 home runs, and knocking in 63 RBIs. Abernathy got hot in the postseason as well, hitting the walk-off winner against Oak Ridge to send Clarksville to their first-ever state title game.
Jamarion Green, Junior Shortstop, Northeast High – Green led the way for the Eagles’ offense with a .398 batting average in 2025, which included him collecting 30 RBIs on 33 hits, including 6 home runs. Green also stole 11 bases as a runner this past season of play.

Clarksville Now POTY, among other awards
Player of the Year – Evan Leonard, Senior Two-Way Player, Clarksville Academy – A Mr. Baseball finalist, Leonard was as dominant as they come on both sides of the diamond. On offense, Leonard had a .401 batting average and drove in 50 RBIs.
Where he really shined was on the mound though, where he collected a 0.52 ERA, only allowing 5 earned runs in 67.1 innings pitched. Leonard also struck out 84 batters, while allowing a .121 batting average against, and collected a 10-1 record with a save in 2025.
Offensive Player of the Year – Korbin Reynolds, Senior Catcher, Clarksville High – Another Mr. Baseball finalist, Reynolds had as good a bat as anyone in the state during the 2025 season. The Vanderbilt signee collected 67 total hits on a .486 batting average, which included hitting 21 doubles and driving in 56 RBIs. On the defensive side of the diamond, Reynolds also shut down opposing teams on the base paths, with a fire hose for an arm behind the plate.
Pitcher of the Year – Porter Murff, Junior Right-Handed Pitcher, Clarksville High – Murff was the Wildcats’ ace throughout 2025, as he collected a 9-2 record in 56.1 innings pitched. Murff only allowed 33 hits in those innings pitched, while striking out 95 batters this season.
Coach of the Year – Dustin Smith, Clarksville Academy – A tough choice here, but the nod goes to Smith. The Cougars went from the second seed in their own district to region champions and made a run all the way to the state title game for the first time in program history. For the postseason heroics and for the Cougars program record 30 wins, Smith earns Clarksville Now’s Coach of the Year.
Team of the Year – Clarksville High – It’s hard to rewrite the record books for a program as historic as Clarksville High Baseball. However, the Wildcats 2025 squad did just that by earning the most wins, most runs scored, and best winning percentage in program history. Most importantly, the Wildcats earned the program’s first state championship birth ever in Murfreesboro. The Wildcats were consistent all year with a final record of 38-8, earning them Clarksville Now Team of the Year recognition.
