CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Kenwood Knights finished the 2015 season 8-4 with a trip to the play-offs. Obviously, football is a team sport that is built on coaching, preparation, and hard work. But every once in a while there are special players that add to the chemistry and success of a team.

Antwuan Branch, Kenwood’s 6’1 2017 running back is definitely a big part of the Knight’s game plan.

Branch’s 2016 campaign boasted 2,595 yards and 29 touchdowns, a team and city record.

“Obviously Antwuan is an outstanding player on the field, but he is just as good off the field. He is a high character kid and is a great student in the classroom. He is a top-notch leader and a super teammate. Yet with all he has accomplished, he has remained humble and his work ethic has not changed,” Knights Head Coach Brian Beaubien said.

Branch not only credits his coaches and teammates, but also his home life.

“My biggest reason for my success would have to be the motivation from my parents to work hard on and off of the field and God helping me through daily life,” he said.

Branch has not only turned heads in the city and opposing teams, but he’s drawn some much deserved attention from college coaches across the country. He currently holds 11 scholarship offers that include Army, Appalachian State, Austin Peay, Navy, Yale, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Old Dominion, Tennessee Tech, Western Kentucky, and The Citadel.

Going into his senior season, Branch still has some things he’d like to accomplish on the high school level.

“My goal this year is for our team to just develop together as a family and achieve something never achieved before,” Branch said.

The Knights have started spring practice, and open up the season against West Creek on August 19.
