MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – A commendation has been awarded to Deputy Ethan Moss with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for saving a man’s life.
On February 4, Deputy Moss responded to a 911 call in the 700 block of Merritt Lewis Lane. Upon arrival Moss found the homeowner unconscious and not breathing. He administered the automated external defibrillator (AED) and started CPR.
After two minutes the homeowner, identified as 54-year-old Tim Bush, started breathing on his own and was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the hospital.
According to EMS Lieutenant Brian McNeeley, Bush has made a full recovery and has been discharged from the hospital.
“Deputy Moss is our hero,” the man’s wife, Robyn Bush, said.
This is the second time Deputy Moss has saved the life of a local citizen. On July 13, 2015 he saved the life of a 62 year-old man by administering an AED and CPR.
Moss is a four-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. Prior to working at the Sheriff’s Office, Moss served in the United States Army. He completed two tours of duty, one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. Originally from Michigan, Moss is married with two boys.
“Many times we are the first on the scene of a medical emergency. The training our deputies receive followed by quick action equates to lives being saved,” Sheriff John Fuson said. “I commend Deputy Moss for quickly applying his training and saving Mr. Bush’s life.”
