MIDDLE TENNESSEE – McDonald’s restaurants across the Middle Tennessee area are hosting a Cans for Coffee food drive Dec. 1 – 14, offering customers one free small coffee in exchange for a non-perishable item benefiting local families in need.

Guests are asked to bring non-perishable food donations – such as cereal, peanut butter, pasta, rice or tuna – to the front counter or drive-thru window at any local McDonald’s restaurant to receive a complimentary coffee. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and partner agencies will collect the food and deliver it to local food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes and other organizations that feed hungry members of the community.

“We are proud to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank and offer another way for people to give back to their community,” said Phil Gray, local McDonald’s owner and operator. “We are excited to support our customers in giving to families in need in their own communities. This is a wonderful opportunity for local McDonald’s owners and customers to come together and really make a difference.”

All 145 McDonald’s restaurants in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky will collect the Cans for Coffee, and donations will stay in the local area to help feed families during the holiday season.
