CLARKSVILLE, TN − The public is invited to join the fun at the Mayor vs. the General Broomball game on Thursday, March 27. Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden challenged Fort Campbell’s Maj. Gen. Brett Sylvia to a goodwill game in the Ford Ice Center at the F&M Bank Arena, making this the fifth Mayor vs. General Broomball Game in Montgomery County.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the opening ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. The Mayor vs. the General faceoff is at 7:45 p.m. The Montgomery County Highway Department plays the Clarksville Street Department at 8:30 p.m., and the final matchup will be between Clarksville Gas & Water and Clarksville Fire & Rescue at 9 p.m.

The emcees for this year are former County Mayor Jim Durrett and Clarksville Now’s own Lee Erwin. Concessions will be available at the arena, and downtown restaurants will be open before and during the event.

The broomball games were played for three consecutive years from 2018 through 2020 at the Downtown Commons seasonal outdoor ice rink. Montgomery County was the last to take the trophy home in 2024.
