CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Mayor Kim McMillan has been invited to attend the 8th annual National Security Program at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.
The invitation only event joins U.S. military officers, civilian employees of the U.S. Government, senior officers from other countries, prominent experts in national security and a select group of individuals who will discuss national security issues over three days.
The theme for this year’s program is “Strategic Leadership for Global Challenges to National Security.” The overall purpose of the program is to prepare senior officers and civilians for positions of great responsibility in the Army and the Defense community. To that end, individuals from academia, the media, government, business and other prominent organizations are invited to share their perspectives, ideas and concerns.
Mayor McMillan was nominated by COL Paul Cordts, Commander of the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH).
“I am deeply honored by this invitation and look forward to representing the City of Clarksville at this program. Without question, one component of national security is the responsibility and response ability of local government and the surrounding community,” said Mayor McMillan.
“The Fort Campbell community is vitally important to our Clarksville family and I am looking forward to learning more about how we can support our soldiers.”
