CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Walk MS connects people living with Multiple Sclerosis and those who care about them. It is an experience unlike any other – a day to come together, to celebrate the progress we’ve made and to show the power of our connections. There will be information and vendors, light snacks and an atmosphere of support and teamwork. Participants can choose to walk 1.1 or 3.1 miles around the park and dogs are welcome to participate.

“I am so excited to be leading this walk. The Mid-South Chapter of the National MS Society does a tremendous job of supporting people with MS and those who care about them. This is an important fundraising opportunity because the funds raised give hope to the people living with MS in our community,” said Mayor McMillan. “And the walk is really a lot of fun.”

“It’s very special to be a part of an event where people of all abilities come together to create hope for others. Whether you are supporting a loved one or just looking for a way to make a positive impact while getting some exercise and enjoying Liberty Park, your support is very much appreciated,” said Mayor McMillan. ”The walk will happen on Saturday regardless of the weather but it looks like it’s going to be a perfect day for a walk around the park.”

If you’d like to join Team McMillan, another team or to build your own team, or if you want to participate individually, please visit www.WalkMS.org and follow the links to the Walk MS Clarksville event. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.

“The connections made and the funds raised during the annual walk are life-changing,” said Mayor McMillan. “I hope everyone will join us.”
