CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan proclaimed Aug. 10, 2018 as FosterCare 2 Fabulous Day (FC2F) in the city.

FosterCare 2 Fabulous is a local nonprofit organization that aims to provide positive impressions for children who have to be removed from their homes.

In many situations, children are given a trash bag to pack their belongings. This group hopes to provide social workers, police officers, and sheriff’s deputies with ‘first step’ bags.

FC2F has also started a program with local barbers and hair stylists to offer free haircuts to children that are within the foster care system. Mayor McMillan says FC2F plans to work with multiple agencies throughout the City of Clarksville, TN Government to provide them with first step bags to better children’s first impressions of leaving their homes.

“Today I had the pleasure of meeting an amazing group of people, striving to make a difference in the world of foster care, and presented a proclamation naming today, Aug. 10, as Foster Care 2 Fabulous (FC2F) Day,” Mayor Kim McMillan said in a Facebook post.
