CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – In a special session of the Clarksville City Council Tuesday, January 6, Kim McMillan was sworn in for her second term as mayor along with the swearing in of six City Council members. The swearing in ceremony was held at the Roxy Regional Theatre in downtown Clarksville which included the singing of the National Anthem by the Northeast Middle School 8th Grade Choir.

New members joining the council include Richard Garrett representing Ward 1, Wanda Smith representing Ward 6, Mike Alexander representing Ward 10 and Bill powers representing Ward 11. Returning council members were Deanna McLaughlin representing Ward 2 and Geno Grubbs representing Ward 7.

Mayor McMillan was sworn in by Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Robert Wedemeyer followed by McMillan swearing in the six City Council members. The mayor and the councilmen and councilwomen will each hold four year terms. McMillan also announced her choice for Mayor Pro Tem, Ward 9 City Councilman Joel Wallace who will serve a two year term.
