Mary Elizabeth Higgins Barwick, age 90, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at her residence.
Elizabeth was born October 25, 1925, in Higgins, NC, to the late Edd Carter Higgins and Mary Jane Duncan Higgins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lide Ryan Barwick; one brother, Charles Higgins; and two sisters, Ruby Morehead and Marjorie Olson.
Mrs. Barwick was a receptionist at Orr & Routledge Eye Care and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Louder officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Ryan (Nancy) Barwick of Bellevue, NE and Michael (Karen) Barwick of Clarksville; four daughters, Mary (Mike) Dash of Clifton, VA, Irene (Bob) Hazen of Clarksville, Cathy (Pat) Sherman of Dumfries, VA, and Patricia Barwick of Clarksville; one brother, Russell “Sonny” Higgins of Texas; three sisters, Geneva Rodgers of Burnsville, NC, Lucille Proffitt of Florida, and Frances Millican of Texas; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Dash, Meredith Porter, Michael Dash, Jr., Melanie Hazen, Kimberly Carlisle, Lorie Beth Schaffer, and Courtney Coleman; and eleven great grandchildren.
