Mary Ann Marks, age 75, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Jubilee House in Clarksville.
Mary Ann was born on April 28, 1948, in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, to the late Albert Smith Marks III and Madeline McAlarney Marks. She was a lifelong resident of the Marks Farm family home.
After attending Roosevelt Elementary School, Mary Ann graduated from Clarksville High School in 1966. In 1970, Mary Ann obtained a B.S. degree in Math and Chemistry from
Austin Peay State University and graduated with the honor of being chosen the outstanding chemistry major. She later obtained a Master of Arts in Education. Mary Ann was a dedicated math teacher for the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. She taught for 33 years at Greenwood Junior High School, Northwest, Kenwood, and Rossview High Schools.
Mary Ann is survived by her brother Albert Smith Marks IV; sisters Rebecca Hunter Marks Westbrooks (Randy) and Emily McAlarney Marks Woods, along with one niece and four nephews.
Gravesite service will be held for Mary Ann on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Greenwood Cemetery, 976 Greenwood Avenue, Clarksville, TN 37040.
