CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery County Republican Women welcomed U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn to their October luncheon. Close to 90 organization members and guests attended the event at Tanglewood House.

Blackburn said as she travels around Tennessee one of the things that she hears a lot about is crime. She mentioned that she and state Sen. Bill Powers, who was at the luncheon, had been talking about crime across the state.

“Bill is on the select committee for the state Senate and they’re going to look at the issue of crime and how the TBI is working with local law enforcement, how they are processing things through the crime lab and things of that nature,” Blackburn said.

The senator encouraged her fellow Republicans to get out and vote on Nov. 8.

“We are willing to fight to preserve faith, family, freedom and opportunity for all, for everyone and we stay engaged and help do our best to get the vote out,” Blackburn said.
