CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A new, four-story, 124-room hotel is set to be considered in Clarksville, as site plans for Marriott StudioRes have been submitted to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission.
The applicant, VHB Engineering of Charlotte, N.C., is looking to develop the hotel on 2.63 acres near Exit 4 on Kennedy Lane. VHB Engineering is also set to serve as the agent/engineer on the project.
The Marriott hotel would be made up of around 13,550 square feet, which includes 124 guest rooms at the hotel, according to site plans.

Marriott StudioRes model
When Marriott International first introduced their StudioRes model, they branded the version as “Your Space to Call Home.” On their website, Marriott said this model is for customers who want smart functional design at an affordable price. They said this model caters to customers’ increased demand for longer stay options at an affordable price.
“We think there is a tremendous market opportunity in this segment for midscale, extended stay,” said Marriott International President and CEO Anthony Capuano, speaking at the first StudioRes groundbreaking in Fort Meyers, Florida.
Marriott said this model is also for hotel owners seeking an efficient cost to build and low-cost operating model reflective of the current economic environment. Their model functions around their efficient staffing (no breakfast, weekly housekeeping, 24/7 front desk availability), a tailored Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program and a simple bundled fee structure.
Key features of the Marriott StudioRes include fully furnished studios with queen beds and a kitchen, and public spaces such as a communal table, fitness room, guest-paid laundry, covered patio and vending area.
Clarksville Now has reached out to Marriott and VHB for comment.
The Regional Planning Commission will meet next week on Tuesday, Nov. 26, where they will continue the conversation over the proposed site plans.
