CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Mark Riggins has officially announced his campaign for mayor of the City of Clarksville on the November 2026 ballot.

Riggins has spent nearly three decades serving the City of Clarksville, beginning his career as a laborer and working his way through gas construction, equipment operation, engineering and senior leadership roles, including general manager of Clarksville Gas and Water. Raised on his grandparents’ farm in Montgomery County, he said he brings a strong work ethic, practical experience and deep knowledge of city operations, infrastructure and budgeting.

He previously served two terms on the Montgomery County Commission.

Riggins said he believes the city must continue investing wisely in infrastructure, protecting taxpayers and making decisions that balance growth with quality of life across all neighborhoods.

“I was raised in Clarksville, and when it came time to build a life and raise a family, there was nowhere else I wanted to be,” Riggins said. “This city gave me opportunity, and as mayor, I will give back through steady leadership and hard work to make sure Clarksville continues to be the best place to live, work, and raise a family for generations to come.”

The Riggins campaign kickoff will be Feb. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Miss Lucille’s Cafe, 2231 Madison St.
