Margie Mai Jenkins Stanley, age 86 of Clarksville, passed away peacefully at Tennova Healthcare.
Born in Cheatham County, TN on March 18, 1935, to the late Laughren Louis Jenkins and Odessa Carrigan Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, of 57 years, Jack Stanley. She is survived by her son, Andy (Holly) Stanley; daughter, Jacqueline (John) Cook; grandchildren: Dr. Joshua Stanley, Jonathan Cook, Justin Cook, Josh Albright, and Caleb Albright, four great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins and friends. Margie was an active member of Sango UMC, where she devoted time as the church treasurer and she also enjoyed being a part of the choir for many years. In her early years of work-life, she enjoyed her time spent at Elder-Conroy Hardware Store. After marrying Jack, in 1963, and having two children, by 1967, she then became a devoted wife and mother. She spent her time raising her children and enjoying all of the benefits of being a mother and homemaker. She would, later in life, return to the workforce, becoming a bookkeeper to many businesses in Clarksville, including Riley Hardware, Albright Plumbing Supply, Camera World, and Slate Tobacco Warehouse, just to name a few. She loved being a grandmother, to her grandchildren, as you could always find her, babysitting, playing games, attending school events, sporting events, watching The Golden Girls, or just visiting and telling stories, from her childhood. She also spent many years as the treasurer of Sango Cemetery.
