Margie Smith Ford went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 12, 2013.

Margie was born and raised in Brunswick, GA and attended Glynn Academy High School. She graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University and attained her Masters Degree from Austin Peay State University. She began her teaching career in 1966, retiring after 17 years as principal of Norman Smith Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Latane Smith; a nephew, Scott Smith; a brother, Ralph Osborn Smith, Jr.; and a sister, Renetta Holt.

She leaves her beloved family – husband, Jerry Ford; two daughters, Kim Thompson Arnold (Earl), Karen Thompson Hoskins (Scott); two sons, Michael Ford (Charlsie), and Brian Ford (Jamie), all of Clarksville; as well as brother, Randal Smith (Glenda), of Long Beach, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition, she leaves her thirteen precious grandchildren – Kristin, Jessica, and Andrew Ford; Katie and Cameron Hoskins; Rhett, Landon, Casey, Paige, and Raegan Arnold; and Macguire, Whitney, and Oakleigh Ford.
She was a member of Sango United Methodist Church and had a Nazarene background.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 16 at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Willie Lyle officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15 and Monday from noon until the hour of service, at the funeral home. Her remains are to be cremated.
