Margaret Patricia English Lezon, age 93, formerly of Clarksville, passed away July 7, 2024, at Highland Meadows Health and Rehab Center in Rockwall, Texas.
Margaret was born June 20,1931 in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Francis Patrick English and Nancy Delma (McCollom) English. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lewis Lezon, Sr., son Robert Lewis Lezon, Jr., sister Dr. Nancy Joyce English Shumate, grandson, Jackson Hunter Amos, granddaughter, Helen Katherine O’Neil, and DIL Suanna Bolinger Lezon.
She is survived by her children, Stanley English Lezon (Katherine) of Heath TX, Frank Patrick Lezon (Denise) of Joshua TX, Nancy Elaine Lezon Keener (Steve) of Charlotte NC, William Barclay Lezon of Murfreesboro, TN, Jonathan Lloyd Lezon (Tonja) of Springdale AR, Ellen Jane Lezon Crocker (Tim) of Bradenton FL, Jeffery James Lezon (Jinny) of Las Vegas NV, and Ann O’Neil Lezon Tuggle of Clarksville TN; twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; niece, Susannah English Shumate (Brent Gass).
Margaret was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic School. She had a lovely singing voice and sang for many years in the church choir. In her youth she sang with country music legend, Roy Acuff, at Dunbar Cave State Park.
She attended two years at Austin Peay State University and was a typesetter for The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle when she met the love of her life, married, and ventured out to see the world. She and Robert settled in Clarksville after his retirement from the United States Air Force.
Funeral mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM. 716 Franklin St., Clarksville, TN 37040. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to the funeral mass, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Flewellen, TN.
