Margaret Elizabeth Denney Armistead, age 96, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
Margaret was born June 19, 1925, in Clarksville, TN, to the late John Franklin Denney and Iris Coyd Comperry Denney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Armistead; and sister, Maxine Wagster.
She is survived by four children, Charles “Skip” (Kathy) Armistead, Tommy (Sandy) Armistead, Jimmy (Carol) Armistead, and Kathy Lynn (Dave) Sorensen; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Armistead was a retired pediatric nurse. Margaret was a volunteer with the girl scouts and cub scouts, as well as the children’s ministry at New Providence United Methodist Church. She was the best babysitter.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 29, at 2:00 PM, at Greenwood Cemetery, with Charles Boyd officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
