CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As cleanup and recovery continues from Sunday’s tornadoes in Alabama, residents of the mid-state are reminded that the most active period for tornadoes in our areas is just beginning.

Middle Tennessee’s peak tornado season of March, April, and May becomes obvious, as shown in the chart below. Nearly two-thirds (66%) of Middle Tennessee’s tornadoes have occurred during these three months.
First Alert Weather provides on-air bulletins on these stations and updates from Clarksvillenow.com via Facebook, Twitter and text alerts whenever a Tornado Watch is issued.
If the threat level is elevated to a Tornado Warning, the First Alert Weather Team provides continuous broadcast coverage.
This coverage includes storm tracking via National Weather Service spotters, and direct communication with National Weather Service meteorologists and the Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center.
