CLARKSVILLE, TN – With a challenging economy and food scarcity, the need for food and services offered locally by Manna Cafe Ministries is growing. To meet this growing need, Manna is implementing a new giving campaign: “When we each give a little, a lot gets done.”
“There are so many generous individuals and families in our community,” explains Vicki York, Manna CEO. “Unfortunately, the economy effects donors as well. We want to offer an affordable option for people to give in a meaningful way.”
For $19 per month a donor can make a huge difference in the lives of thousands in Montgomery and Stewart Counties. That’s only 63 cents per day that will help Manna Cafe:
- Serve more than 23,000 hot meals through the Mobile Cafe program.
- Provide monthly food distribution for more than 20,000 people in Montgomery and Steward Counties.
- Stage Mobile Pantry events that provide food to 300 families in a single day.
- Distribute clothing, school supplies, household items.
- Provide tents, sleeping bags, propane for those without a permanent home.
- Offer a safe, warm place to stay when the temperatures drop below freezing.
- Provide caseworkers to assist clients in finding services to improve their lives.
- Provide a free clinic twice a month.
Manna Cafe distributes more than 2.5 million pounds of food each year. It’s only through the support of compassionate and generous people Manna can accomplish its mission to serve the hungry and homeless with hope, dignity, and love.
