CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (Clarksvillenow.com) Manna Café Ministries recently held a birthday party celebrating their 6th year of serving the Clarksville-Montgomery County community with their Grits & Gravy Breakfast at The Belle Hollow.
Guest speakers at the breakfast were Austin Peay State University President Dr. Alisa White and Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts. Grace Community Church presented a check for $9,500 and Publix donated $14,460 through a food and money drive with donations coming from customers.
Working through a number of agencies and support from the local community Manna Café distributes 1.8 million pounds of food to local families each year. The goal is to first meet people’s basic need for food and then guide them toward positive, permanent change.
The next event for Manna Café Ministries is the “Color me Cool Art Show & Ice Cream Festival on June 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Smith Trahern Mansion, 101 McClure Street in Clarksville. The event has music, art, games, a Kids Zone and of course ice cream.
