CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) If you walk down the street and ask every person you saw what their dream was, they would have something to tell you. No matter how big or small, everyone has a dream.

For Kenny York, founder and CEO of Manna Café Ministries, that dream has been a community of people who share the same mission, to meet the needs of homeless and low-income families in Clarksville-Montgomery County. After many years of waiting, that dream will finally become a reality.

On Friday, July 27, Manna Café closed on the property for what will now be known as The Manna Village. The property is a 44,000 square-foot complex consisting of four buildings on the site of the old Schrecker Moving & Storage at 605 Providence Blvd.

“We were able to raise the down payment thanks to a lot of generous people in town. One of the things we are most excited about is being able to partner with other agencies. We’ll have the room to bring other agencies in to do stuff that we don’t do,” York said.

York said the first phase will be a community center/multi-purpose facility that is scheduled to be ready by the first part of 2019. He hopes to have Manna Café completely moved in by the first part of 2020.

The Manna Village will be a community of like-minded people and agencies committed to restoring the lives of those who need to get back on their feet. Manna Café will now have one location to meet the needs of homeless and low-income families along with space for other ministries and organizations.

In order for The Manna Village to operate and be successful, it is going to take a lot of people and there are three ways to help. First, you can text to give at “Village” to 931-542-4772 and fill out a one-time registration.
