CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Manifest Magic, a local social service group, will host Clarksville’s first Best in Black Gala on Saturday, Sept. 18, to raise money for a localized mental health program.
The gala will be held at the Bruce Convention Center at 303 Conference Center Drive in Hopkinsville, Kentucky from from 5 p.m. to midnight. This event is ticketed and open to the public.
The Best in Black Gala is a black tie formal event will aim to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the Black and African-American community in Clarksville.
The gala’s goal is to raise money for an accessible community mental health program that includes mental health first aid, group coaching and trauma-informed care.
“Our program’s goal is to improve mental health outcomes for diverse populations with a focus on the Black community by providing culturally sensitive care, engaging diverse providers, and promoting racial awareness within the mental health workforce” Juanita Charles, founder of Manifest Magic, said in a news release.
“We recognize the disparities in access and care and want to be a force in eliminating them in Clarksville,” Charles added.
The gala will be kicked off with a cocktail hour, followed by an upscale seated dining experience, community awards ceremony, cigar lounge, signature cocktails, dancing, networking and a silent auction fundraiser.

For the community awards portion of the gala, all members of the community are welcome to nominate and vote for your favorites in each category at www.BestinBlackClarksville.com. Winners will be announced and awarded at the event.
