NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The man who climbed onto a sign over Interstate 65 in Nashville last week, shutting the road down for hours, will serve jail time, according to WKRN News 2.
A judge sentenced 46-year-old William Walters to serve a total of 20 days in jail, five of which he has already served.
Walters was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing a roadway after he climbed up onto the sign near Rosa L. Parks Blvd. last Tuesday.
A negotiator eventually talked him down and he was transported to a local hospital for a mental observation. He was not physically injured.
