CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A man was shot in the face and his wife wounded Tuesday night and a suspect is in custody.
A news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Rossview Road and Guthrie Road.
The victims, a married couple, called 911 to report the incident and drove themselves to Tennova Medical Center.
The husband, who was shot in the face, is in critical condition. He was later transported to Vanderbilt.
The wife was shot in the arm and has a wound on her head where it appears a bullet may have grazed her. She is in stable condition.

Barbara Cowdrey, 47, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault in the shooting. Additional charges may be pending.
Her bond is $500,000. Cowdrey’s booking photo shows she was also charged with a meth violation and has out of county warrants on file.
Based on information gathered by investigators, this is an isolated incident and the victims and suspect knew each other.
