CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police shot a man in a back yard on Durrett Drive early Thursday morning.
At 12:12 a.m., Clarksville Police were called to Durrett Drive about a person threatening suicide, according to the 911 log.
When they arrived at the 3300 block of Durrett, they made contact with a man in the back yard, according to police spokesman Detective Michael Patterson.
“The officers began talking to the subject with the goal of de-escalating the situation. During this time, the subject produced a weapon, causing an officer to fire,” Patterson said.
The man was taken to the hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has responded and taken over the investigation.
Durrett Drive is off Fort Campbell Boulevard in north Clarksville, near the state line.
No further information was released.
