CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A man wanted on outstanding warrants rammed a Clarksville officer’s car while evading arrest this morning, according to police.
At about 9:30 a.m., while on routine patrol, a Clarksville officer saw Donald Ray Ennis, a man he knew had warrants on file, getting into a vehicle in the 1000 block of Swift Drive, according to a news release from Detective Michael Patterson.
The officer pulled his patrol car up to Ennis’ vehicle and tried to make contact. As the officer was exiting his car, Ennis put his vehicle in reverse and jumped over the curb, Patterson said. He then put the vehicle in drive, rammed the front of the patrol car, then sped away.
The officer was not injured.
Ennis, 45, is 6 feet tall and 210 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
After today’s incident, Ennis has warrants on file for aggravated assault and evading arrest, Patterson said.
