CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Clarksville man has pleaded guilty to shooting his teenage brother in the head and killing him.
24-year-old Brian Holden Smith entered the plea to reckless homicide last week. Smith admitted to shooting 15-year-old Demarcus Derelle Mosley while the two were at an apartment on Nov. 21, 2012.
Smith initially told police he’d heard gunfire then gave a detailed description of two men running down the street.
Police determined there were several people in the apartment, and Smith handled the gun. He pointed it at his brother’s head, and the gun discharged.
According to the plea agreement, Smith can receive no less than three years and no more than 10 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 4.
