CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A New Jersey man was killed in a wreck on Highway 149 on Monday, Feb. 27, when he ran a stop sign at Palmyra Road and was hit by a Mack truck.

At about 10 a.m., Dustin M. Goebel-Rose, 32, was going south on Palmyra Road in a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and failed to stop at a stop sign at Highway 149, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report obtained by Clarksville Now.

He was hit by a 2010 Mack dump truck traveling west on Highway 149 driven by Kevin Russell Smith, 29, of Minnesota, the THP report said.

Both vehicles struck the guard rail and the Mack truck overturned.

Goebel-Rose died from his injuries, and Smith was injured.
