CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A local man was kidnapped and robbed the night of Friday, September 28 in an encounter with two suspects outside of the 324 Madison Street Dollar General store.

The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m., when the victim exited the business, and saw the two black males sitting on a maroon Chevrolet Malibu in the parking lot. He asked them to give him a ride to the Providence Boulevard and Peachers Mill Road intersection, because he had walked to the Dollar General from his home, and did not want to walk back.

According to the victim, the suspects agreed to give him a ride, though as he settled into the backseat of the vehicle, one of the men produced a handgun and aimed it at him. He was ordered not to move or talk. The suspects then drove the victim outside of the city limits, and stopped the vehicle at an unknown location on Highway 79, within seeing distance of the Bi-County Landfill. The suspects then ordered the man out of the car, forced him to strip off all of his clothing except underwear, removed $140 from his wallet and tossed the rest of his personal items toward the trees lining the roadway. The two suspects then got in their vehicle and sped away, heading back in the direction of city limits. The victim them put on his clothing and began to walk toward his home. A person driving by in a red Ford truck picked up the victim, and dropped him off on Providence Boulevard at the Peachers Mill Road intersection. From there, he walked to his residence on Peachers Mill Road, where he later gave a statement about the occurrence.

Because the victim was taken outside city limits, the kidnapping was reported by the Clarksville Police Department, and that the robbery was reported by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
