EAST TENNESSEE (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Heavy rains made for treacherous conditions Thursday and into Friday in East Tennessee. The Knoxville area received more than 5 inches of rain in 48 hours. With an already wet January, the water did not soak into the ground, leaving many residents with the potential for flooding throughout the area.

Rain remains in the forecast through Thursday, February 13.

Videos have been popping up across social media and news channels pointing to the above average water levels.
