DECATURVILLE, Tenn. – According to News 2, a grand jury in Decatur County has indicted Zachary Adams in connection to the disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 05, 2014.

Adams, 29, is indicted with first degree felony murder and especially aggravated kidnapping.

Bobo disappeared from her home on Swan Johnson Road outside Parsons, about 100 miles west of Nashville, on the morning of April 13, 2011.

Bobo’s brother Clint last saw her being led into the woods, he says, by a man dressed in camouflage.

Last weekend, the TBI searched Adams’ home in Holladay, Tennessee, which is about 15 miles north of Bobo’s home, in connection to the case.

Adams was already in custody on an unrelated aggravated assault charge. He is currently being held in Chester County without bond.

At a news conference broadcast live on News 2 WKRN, TBI Director Mark Gwyn talked about the investigation that has been ongoing since last week. Gwyn said that the TBI, FBI, and local agencies enacted a “full court press” of searches and interviews that led to the arrest of Zachary Adams.

Gwyn stressed the fact that no questions can be answered as to the whereabouts of Holly Bobo at this time because the investigation is ongoing, saying “this is too important, we can’t mess it up now.”

Gywn said that the TBI was able to bring about the charges because “we believe that we can prove she was taken forcefully from her home without consent.” He stated that they also have reason to think that more information about the case can still be revealed as the investigation continues, and additional searches may be conducted if necessary.

According to Gwyn, the district attorney has made the case death penalty eligible. He concluded his comments by saying, “Hopefully this is the beginning of closure for the Bobo family.”

A motive for the killing was not released.

Adams is scheduled to be arraigned in Decatur County next Tuesday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
