CLARKSVILLE, TN. – On May 17 at 6:42 p.m. the Clarksville Police Department responded to Tiny Town Road in front of Publix near the intersection of Peachers Mill Rd.

A man believed to be high on bath salts exited a vehicle at the intersection and waved a gun.

According to Clarksville Police Sgt. Charles Gill, officers tracked the suspect after he left the scene.

Darren Smith was taken into custody at Renaissance Apartments where he fired shots, and started another incident. No one was injured.

Smith is jailed on nine counts of Felony Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism, and Public Intoxication. He was also charged with convicted felon in possession of a firearm and his bond was set at $290,000.
