Update, 5:35 p.m.: The homicide victim has been identified as 19-year-old Naythan Nugent of Clarksville, according to police.

This is an active investigation, and no other information has been released.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A man was shot to death in a car on Forest Hills Drive Tuesday night.

At about 9:40 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to a shooting in progress call in the 300 block of Forest Hills, according to spokesman Scott Beaubien.

They found a man in a car with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Beaubien said.

Detectives with the Special Operations Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Team are at the scene investigating the shooting.

“At this time, it is believed that the victim and suspect are acquainted and this is not a random act,” Beaubien said.
