CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man was killed in a crash Monday morning on the 41A Bypass.
Police said a Buick Century driven by Rodney Howard of Clarksville was traveling southbound at 6:57 a.m. and for an unknown reason drifted into oncoming traffic.
The vehicle was struck by a ProStar semi-tractor trailer driven by William Heckstall of North Carolina.
Heckstall applied the brakes but was unable to avoid the head-on collision.
Howard died at the scene from his injuries.
A portion of the bypass was closed through 1:15 p.m. while crews cleared the scene.
