CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- Clarksville Police have arrested a suspect in the Jan. 15 Bennett Drive homicide and released the name of the victim.

Desergio Taylor, 32, was shot multiple times inside a home at 110 Bennett Drive on January 15, 2020. He died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from his injuries, according to a news release from Clarksville Police spokesman Jim Knoll.

Based on witness accounts, two men,  Marc Crowder and Decory Smith, were allowed inside of the residence.  As soon as the men were inside, they were heard saying, “You know what this is,” and then multiple gunshots were heard.

The two men fled in a gray Jeep Cherokee while Desergio Taylor remained inside, mortally wounded.  One of the men leaving the scene was identified as Smith, the release said.

Marc Crowder, 35, was discharged from Tennova Hospital and has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Crowder is charged with criminal homicide and a bond has not been set.

The second suspect, Smith, 34, remains hospitalized at a Nashville hospital in stable condition.
