CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police have arrested one person in connection with a shooting Tuesday, Jan. 28, where three people were shot on Peacher’s Mill Road.

Freddrick Bates, 39, has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. His bond is set at $50,000.
Bates was one of three people shot and was charged after being released from the hospital.

Police responded to a shooting in progress around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. When officers arrived, they found a man and woman outside of a home in the 900 block of Peachers Mill who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Officers were given a description of a Ford Taurus which fled the scene of the shooting.  Officers flooded the area and the vehicle was quickly located in the front yard of a Leigh Court residence, according to a news release from Jim Knoll, spokesman for Clarksville Police Department.

The investigation has revealed the male in his late 20s, in a Ford Taurus, pulled into the driveway of the Peachers Mill Rd residence. There were a man and woman, both in their 30s, standing outside of the vehicle interacting with the man in the Taurus.  At some point, a gunfire exchange took place and the Taurus was quickly backed out of the driveway and fled from the scene.  Witnesses helped officers track down and locate the Taurus on Leigh Ct.  The man in his 20s did not live at the Leigh Ct residence and was found in the backyard of a Leigh Ct residence.

During the investigation, it was determined Bates did possess a firearm during the shooting occurring at Peachers Mill and was one of two individuals standing outside of the Taurus in the driveway.  Bates was previously convicted of aggravated robbery in September 2002.

He was booked into the Montgomery County jail, Jan. 28, around 7 p.m. with a Bond of $50,000. (booking photo attached)

The driver of the Taurus is still hospitalized and is expected to be released from the hospital today.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
