SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The man accused of murdering 7-year-old Gabbi Doolin in November was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, according to WKRN News 2. The hearing has been rescheduled for later this month.
Timothy Madden appeared in court briefly Wednesday afternoon where his attorney asked for more time to review the case.
The Associated Press reports that Madden’s attorney is seeking surveillance video that he says might show the defendant on the day of the 7-year-old’s death.
Travis Lock told reporters he has subpoenaed video records from businesses in Scottsville, Kentucky.
Lock says he’s seeking video recordings before and after the girl’s death.
Madden, 38, faces charges of kidnapping, rape, sodomy and murder in Gabriella “Gabbi” Doolin’s death.
A detective is expected to testify about the case.
The 7-year-old was reported missing at 7:40 p.m. on Nov. 14 during a little league game at Allen County Scottsville High School and found dead at 8:05 p.m. in a small stream of water nearby.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by News 2, Gabbi was raped, manually strangled, and drowned.
“Biological evidence,” or DNA, found on her body is what led police to Madden, the warrant states.
Madden remains in jail on a $1 million bond.
His son, Bradley Madden, 20, is also scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday.
He is charged with 16 counts of terroristic threatening in the third-degree and 16 counts of intimidating a participant in the legal process.
According to an affidavit obtained by News 2, Madden sent private messages to the Scottsville Police Department via Facebook on Nov. 21.
He allegedly wrote ” U got the wrong m,an u sick f*** ur have to be missing so ething try harder please don’t give up if u book my dad in and he does life u will do life wachi g ur back,” and “Go do ur god dam jobs correctly b**** u know who I talkimg about it is a set up from hell when he gets our best believe u will be sued for slander his privacy right and false arrest and yall will go to hell for this.”
On Nov. 23 he allegedly sent another message that said, “I coming for you.”
Later that same day, he reportedly said, “Scottsville look out im comming for everyone whoa has said my name and my fams and my dads so ill meet u there.”
According to investigators, Madden was warned that he would be arrested if he did not stop sending threatening messages to the police department, but he continued.
Kentucky State Police told News 2 Madden is not being investigated in connection to his father’s murder case. He is also scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
