CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man was arrested May 29 for aggravated animal cruelty after an animal that had been left in his care was severely injured.
An arrest warrant states that 19-year-old Andrew Rose was supposed to be caring for a 6-year-old Pomeranian dog while the owner was away.
When the woman returned home, she found the dog bleeding from the mouth. The dog also had a possible broken leg and labored breathing.
A veterinarian said the dog’s condition was caused by blunt force trauma, which may result in permanent nerve damage, spinal cord damage, or paralysis.
The Pomeranian may need to be euthanized depending on the extent of his injuries.
Rose was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
