CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man fell down a ravine in Clarksville after stopping to help the victim of a crash.
According to Officer Natalie Hall, a vehicle flipped Saturday around 10:30 p.m. on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway at West Fork Bridge.
The driver, 50-year-old David Kennedy, told police he had been working long hours and fell asleep while driving home. The vehicle struck the right bridge abutment, careened across both lanes of travel, struck the left bridge rail and overturned, according to a police report.
Kennedy suffered minor abrasions to his face and hands.
A passerby attempted to help the driver but lost his footing and fell into the ravine near the crash site.
He was transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.
The name of the passerby has not been released.
