CINCINNATI (AP) — Police have arrested a 25-year-old Cincinnati man wanted in northern Kentucky on suspicion of briefly stealing a vehicle with a 3-week-old infant in it.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the vehicle was stolen in Florence, Kentucky, on Thursday afternoon while the child’s mother went into a gas station to pay. Surveillance video shows the vehicle was left about 10 minutes later at a different gas station in Fort Mitchell, but authorities didn’t immediately know that, and the baby remained in the car as a nearly three-hour search ensued. He was found safe when two people spotted the vehicle.

Investigators say a suspect seen on video was subsequently arrested on a warrant for theft and kidnapping.

Florence police Capt. Thom Grau says authorities haven’t decided whether the mother will face charges.
