CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A man has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots in a gas station parking lot on Providence Blvd.
Witnesses at the Speedway Gas Station at 320 Providence Blvd called 911 when they observed a white male fire his handgun four to five times in the parking lot on Nov. 17 around 4:25 p.m.
An officer saw a vehicle speed off from the gas station and was later able to speak with the occupants, who told him that the shooter shot at them. One projectile struck another vehicle on the driver’s side while it was occupied.
One of the witnesses followed the suspect to the area of B St. and Locust St. and told officers that the male had not come out of the woods. Soon after, officers made contact with a white male matching the description given. He was identified as Joseph Monteleone. It was later confirmed that he was the shooter.
CPD K9 Officer Joe Scruggs and his Police Service Dog (PSD) searched the woods where the suspect was detained and located a black hat and a revolver with five casings recovered that had all been fired.
24-year-old Joseph Monteleone from Bumpus Mills, TN was booked into Montgomery County Jail on the charges of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment. Other charges are pending.
