MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Montgomery County man has been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly beating a donkey and a dog when the animals attacked each other.

According to an arrest warrant, three witnesses told police that they saw 22-year-old Cody Sascha Miracle beat a donkey and a dog in order to stop a fight between the animals on Aug. 20. They said Miracle beat the donkey on the head, then beat the dog on the head and dragged it into the house.

Witnesses said they continued to hear yelling and thuds coming from inside the house.

An officer responded to the scene and discovered blood and injuries on the donkey’s face. The officer said the donkey was barely able to walk.

The dog had a bandage on its leg, which the arrest warrant says may have been an injury from the fight.

Miracle’s warrant said he admitted to beating the donkey and disciplining the dog.

He was arrested Oct. 7 and charged with two counts of aggravated animal cruelty. His bond was set at $5,000.
