CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell, Maj. Gen. JP McGee, stopped by Bo’s Barber Shop on Monday to pay his respects to the Ward family and get a little off the top.
“I’ve been here for three tours, as a battalion commander, a brigade commander and now a division commander. Every time I have been at Fort Campbell, my barber shop has been Bo’s, and the Ward family has cut my hair since October 2006 when I first showed up here,” McGee said.

McGee said the relationship started with the founder of the shop, Bo Ward, who cut his hair when he was a battalion commander. After Ward’s death, his two sons, Ronnie Ward and Randy Ward, were his barbers when he served in brigade command and then moved into division command.
Owner Faye Ward said it was a great honor to receive the award saying Gen. McGee is a fine man, and they show him the same respect they show everyone at Fort Campbell.
McGee will be leaving Fort Campbell and relinquishing command of the 101st to Maj. Gen. Brett Sylvia this Thursday at the Division Parade Field on post.
