CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With low temperatures dropping well below freezing several days in the coming week, Clarksville Area Urban Ministries will open its warming shelter at the Madison Street UMC Gymnasium, 300 Commerce St., beginning Friday evening.
“This next cold spell will stick around for a while. This means a lot of shifts to cover!” said Michelle Austin, director of Clarksville Neighborhood & Community Services. “The center is in desperate need of volunteers for the evening and overnight shifts for the next couple of weeks.”
Lows will drop to the mid-20s Wednesday night, then down to 20 Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
