CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Lowe’s of Clarksville on Friday paid tribute to longtime store manager the late Nathan Clark with a road dedication ceremony.

Clark, an advocate for the active-duty military and veteran community, unexpectedly passed away in December after serving the Clarksville community for 22 years as manager of the Madison Street location.

Throughout his Lowe’s career, Clark built a strong partnership with Fort Campbell and the USO, supporting military members and their families year-round through donations and acts of service, according to a press release.

“Nathan was a great peer to each and every one of us, a great teacher to every single store manager who came through,” said Thomas Butler, store manager, adding that he was a father figure to many of his employees. “Nathan built a fantastic culture of leaning on each other, supporting each other.”

Clark’s wife, Marcia, said his priorities were family, golf, the Lord and the church, America and our military, and his work.

“He thought he was Lowe’s,” Marcia Clark said during the ceremony. “That is why we’re standing here today, because of his unwavering responsibility and dedication to everything that happened on this corridor. He took ownership of it.”

Clark led Lowe’s sponsorship of the largest USO holiday event at Fort Campbell, an initiative that served more than 750 active-duty military personnel. Clark also led service projects to renovate and upgrade the Tennessee State Veterans Home, Gabriel Memorial Field and the 160th SOAR Remembrance Trail at Fort Campbell, honoring fallen soldiers.

The road signs on the access drive along the storefront have been named in Clark’s honor.
