CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Some long bridge beams will be delivered to Clarksville today and Tuesday, causing traffic delays from Interstate 24 to Highway 48/13.
Today and Tuesday, a construction company will deliver a total of seven large and very long bridge beams to the construction site on 48/13 from I-24, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien.
The beams should arrive between 11 a.m. and noon each day and will cause some traffic to be delayed. The plan is to bring four spans today and three on Tuesday. The route will be from Exit 11 down Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, continuing down the 41A Bypass to Cumberland Drive. Traffic units will escort these trucks, and when they arrive at Riverside Drive and Cumberland, they estimate the intersection will be closed for approximately 15-20 minutes each time.
CPD recommends drivers take alternate routes during this timeframe.
