CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A local yard sale raised over $2500 to help a family and young child struggling with a rare form of pediatric cancer.

Gannon Kriegshauser is 19-months-old and was diagnosed earlier this year. Gannon is the grandson of local physician Mr. Kelly Foley.

Mr. Foley is the lead physician for Montgomery County Government’s Onsite Medical, the clinic utilized by Clarksville-Montgomery School System staff and Montgomery County Government employees.

Gannon was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma (Rb) a rare form of cancer that rapidly develops from the immature cells of a retina, the light-detecting tissue of the eye. It is the most common primary malignant intraocular cancer in children, and it is almost exclusively found in young children.

Medical bills began to overwhelm the family, amassing more than $60,000 out of pocket to take him back and forth to a pediatric specialist in NY for treatments.

The yard sale was created as a fundraiser for the family. Friends and co-workers have pledged to continue finding ways to support, including participating in an online giving page.
